This is a beautiful part of Kent (I am slightly biased I admit!) and if you are planning to stay in the area for a day or two, here are some suggestions of local places of interest. There are many more and if you are fond of walking, please contact my dad as he is an encyclopedia of knowledge when it comes to the best footpaths on which to admire the countryside!

A short drive away...

A few local attractions that are worth a look if time permits;

Sissinghurst Castle - a National Trust property famous for the wonderful Vita Sackville-West gardens. A word of warning - it is not actually a castle!

Bodiam Castle - a National Trust property, this time living up to its name! A surprisingly intact castle complete with a moat and extensive grounds. One of my absolute favourites as a child. Non-members pay £2 for the carpark but are then able to access the grounds.

Great Dixter - home and gardens of Christopher Lloyd

Cranbrook - our local small town where you can spend a few hours in the shops, tea rooms or local pubs. It's also where I spent my secondary school years!
